Snurks
January 7th, 2006
Come on people, this is just ridiculous. Have you ever heard someone say, “you can’t do anything original because everything has already been done?” As an artist I hear this often and I do not agree with it, but that’s not the point. The point is that the title of the movie “Snurks” is a perfect example of this saying (that I do not agree with… all the time).
Exhibit A:
Please note two qualities of the title in Fig. 1. One, the word “Shrek” and two, the cute ears coming off of the top of the ‘S’.

Fig. 1
In Fig. 2, I would like you to note the embossed style of the title and the way in which the letters are not all in a line, but offset vertically from each other.

Exhibit B:
Stolen! Fig. 3. What more can I say than “lame.”

For your veiwing pleasure, I have slaved hours over Photoshop to bring you this easy to read image. View its un-originality, VIEW IT!

SHAME ON YOU SNURKS. That is just unapologetic stealage. And I mean, you could at least make it look okay… but… um… no.
Speaking of font and nerdiness, my parents got me a great book about type and fonts for my birthday, I think you would enjoy it. I’m actually reading it. For pleasure.

The shadowing on the HP and snurks. Also similar. Kinda.
