Actually I'm just a nerd, as opposed to "le nerd," because I am, in fact, not French.

And on the D&D note, this is the first time I've ever played D&D so I'm not that bad, right?

Right, guys?

Guys?

oh no dude, I totally just played D&D for the first time this summer, so I feel your nerdy pain.

It was sweet, though. We had zombies and there was a lot of lute playing on our bard's part. And I think I accidentally slept with a troll.

Half Assed Post

I had an awesome time tonight with tons of people and I wish I could do that everyother night (so I would have one night to recuperate). I was going to explain more but I'm having trouble standing/sitting up straight and think that I'm just going to sleep it off. If you happen to find me on the floor, I probably didn't make it to my bed. Pictures soon!

Love,
Joel

Tonight Equals Sexy

No pictures tonight folks. Just words.

My dad says to me, "hey Joel, let's go to Pet World so I can get some light bulbs for the fish tank."
"Ugh, dad that sounds lame. I don't wanna go."
"Well what are you doing otherwise?"
"...Nothing... FINE, I'll go."

So to make a long story short we went in to the store, and 20 minutes or so later I walk out with a girl's phone number which she gave to me. Joel +4 Charisma. Granted I had met this girl once or twice before so I kinda knew her. But then again, I hadn't seen her in five/six months.

ANYWAYS, I was pretty pumped about that, if you couldn't tell. About an hour later Alex called me back and we hang-ed out. After 45 minutes or so of watching Reno 911 we decided to get the racquet balls I hit on top of Cherokee middle school. We trotted down to the school to scout out our target. I had the crazy idea of Alex giving me a boost up onto a small platform then I'd climb on to the roof. He said it wouldn't support my weight and I said it would.

Several jokes about me being fat and ten seconds later, I was laying on the blacktop and Alex was laughing while walking quickly away from the broken platform. We were going to need a ladder. We trekked back to my house and stealthily grabbed a ladder. Alex carried it all the way back to the school. It was aluminum, but still awkward to carry by ones-self (thank you Alex!). We scampered, as much as one can scamper with a tall ladder, SplinterCell-style through the ladders and one HUGE spot light. Ladder on school wall. Alex on school roof.

Alas, we did not find what we were looking for. But he did manage to find three tennis balls and a summer camp volley ball. Slightly disappointed we headed back to my house. Yet, the night was still young.

TO CLUB SENTRY! Pizza, chips, doughnuts, and gum. Yum, yum. Late night dinner of webcomics and food ensued. Generally one of the better two person, non-sex, parties I've had in awhile. So score one for Alex and I. Woo!

MC Katz Meow

It seems like just about every day I go take my sister to the barn so she can ride MC. Here is a picture of "The Katz Meow" or, as we call him, "MC."

(I took this picture with my new camera phone so that's why it's not all artsy-pretty as usual)

I swear he's just a really big dog. He definitely acts like it.

ANYWAYS, I love spending time out at the barn. Sometimes I watch my sister ride, sometimes I just wonder around the barn and surrounding land looking for interesting things. No matter what happens it's just peaceful and nice out there. Mind you I still love the city and would kill to live in an apartment right in downtown, but at the same time I love spending time out in "bum-flippin-nowhere." Out there I look around for miles and there's nothing but land. One or two houses, but mostly land. Every once in a while a car will scream by on the back-roads at a million miles an hour. So if anyone needs me

I'll be in they hay stack playing with the kitty-cats
Take another shot and then you're all patty-whacked

I know exactly what you mean about loving the city but still enjoying the country. That's one thing I like about living in Madison, city-ish but oh so very close to my buddy MC. I'm glad you enjoy taking me out there otherwise I'd feel very bad for you because you'd be very bored out there if you didn't appreciate it. Thanks for a post with moi!

A Much Needed Post

Many of you have been wondering, "where the F is Joel?!" Well to all of you I'm terribly sorry. I had some rough times that very few, in fact possibly no one, really knows about. I'm not going in to all of that but I will just say that when the going gets tough, the tough get going and I moved my ass. Needless to say it's kinda hard to upkeep a blog while on the move so it's been awhile.

What have I been up to as of late? I thought you'd never ask.

Me and Erin have totally been hanging out.

This is Butters and myself facing off.
Patrice is making sure we keep it clean.

This is Butters.
The cutest Guinea Pig with the sweetest name ever.

This is Patrice and Butters.
A lot of happiness radiates off the two of them.

Tune in tomorrow for, FATHERS DAY. (and yes I know that Father's Day was Sunday, but doing more than one post a day is for losers)

Me, Myself, and Patrice

First of all, my life was looking like pure crap for awhile there. It's still not all pretty with flowers and rainbows, but it's better than it was before. If you heard anything about me having a house next semester, forget it because for all practical purposes it never happened. On the upside I heard some great information about my apartment next year that really caught me off guard, but until I know for sure I will say nothing more than that.

Second! Kate is, alas, back in Texas but here are some pictures that she took of me (and one of Patrice) while she was here in Madisuck. I know that they're all of me, but rarely do I ever post pictures of myself. So here we go!

Joel as an object, compliments of Kate.

I think I'm attacking Patrice, but I'm not sure...

The sticker on my mouth reads, "Safety belt use required in this vehicle."

Now it's on my shirt! CRAZY!
(for some reason I'm reminded of Evan here)

Until next time, LOVE LOVE LOVE!

If I were to tell everyone about my housing thing then it most certainly would not happen. Just like when you say "It's going to be nice outside today" it rains just to spite you. So therefore, until I have my housing information IN MY HAND I will say nothing.

Bored? Me too. Does it show?

Hey! Love quizzes?! Have lots of time on your hands?! WELL HERE IS YOUR ANSWER! Just fill this out and send it to jgillman@mcad.edu. All of your prayers will be answered! If you want me to send the same thing back to you just ask! WOO I'M SO EXCITED! (someone kill me)

1. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.

2. Am I lovable?

3. How long have you known me?

4. When and how did we first meet?

5. What was your first impression?

6. Do you still think that way about me now?

7. What do you think my weakness is?

8. Do you think I'll get married?

9. What makes me happy?

10. What makes me sad?

11. What reminds you of me?

12. If you could give me anything what would it be?

13. How well do you know me?

14. When's the last time you saw me?

15. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn't?

16. Do you think I could kill someone?

17. Describe me in one word.

18. Do you think our friendship is getting stronger, weaker, or staying the same?

19. Do you feel that you could talk to me about anything and I would listen?

20. If I was an ice cream flavour, which would I be and why?

21. What song (if any) reminds you of me?

22. If you could change one thing about me, what would it be?

23. Do you consider me a good friend?

24. What makes me, me?

25. Would you make a move on me?

26. Do I cross your mind at least 2 times a day?

(by they way, I got this from Alex's blog who got it from Jamie's blog... but I edited it slightly)

Desperate Guys

Reasons there are no pictures in this post:
1) I'm lazy and haven't scanned in the other 6 35mm rolls.
2) I've taken tons of pictures on my digital camera but can't find the transfer card.

Because of no pictures you get TEXT! WEEEEE!

Here's a song I heard on the radio, I really love it.
Keane - Somewhere Only We Know

This is my favorite part:
Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

Oh and I will soon make a gushing update about a certain house in a certain city of which I love dearly.

[EDIT: Apparently there are some rumors going around so I'll just set shit straight here: I'm not gay. I like girls. I don't really have a girlfriend. And there is no "new girl." Thanks for your attention, hope that clears things up.]

Joel's comment above was in response to a comment I just deleted. Don't worry, he's not going crazy. The post, edited because it was crazy before, is below in a better form:

Joel, I hate to say it but you're painfully straight. So Joel, regardless of what you say, do I see you as gay? No. You're just awesome and seem to be damn happy with who you are.

can i just ask, how could ANYone think joel is gay? how did that "funny story" happen? cuz i know there has to be one behind this.
